Rolando Chang had tears as he explained all he had done for his family, now that he was in need they didn't need him. He went to speak with our supported housing coordinator. Weeks later Mr. Chang showed up to my desk so happy. I was overjoyed to translate the lease for him and give him the key to his home. He told me he was a poet and through his experience he was able to write again. Mr. Chang was my first experience of how Adelante was able to change a life.
I always dreamed of getting a higher education, and now that I was in this country I did not know how. One day someone told me about Adelante; I called and made an appointment. I was so excited to hear that it was possible for me to attend college. I am very proud of myself and also very grateful to this amazing organization.
