On July 11-13, 2014 the Mexican Consulate on Wheels was held in Brentwood, NY – Long Island.
The event was held in Adelante of Suffolk County located in Brentwood, NY. and 167 consular services were provided with an overall of 250 Mexicans from all areas of Suffolk and Nassau. The Mexican Consulate was able to process and renew their identification documents, passports, information, and other consular services provided by the officers of the Mexican Consulate in New York, without having to travel all the way to Manhattan where they usually provide these services.
Through this event we were able to inform our community about the programs and services that Adelante provides.
Our gratitude to the community organizations that supported us at this event like: Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. (F.R.E.E), Family Wellness Center that provided vital sign screenings and education to the participants of the event, Cornell University Cooperative Extension with Health and Nutrition Education, Long Island Cares who donated bags of food that were given to the people who attended the Consulate.
